Head coach: Noel Thorpe

Canada enters its second IFAF Under-19 World Championship as silver medal-holders from 2009.

New head coach Noel Thorpe is a Vancouver native, a veteran Canadian Football League coach and currently is the defensive coordinator at l’Université de Montréal. From 2008-10, Thorpe served as defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator with the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL. He also served as assistant head coach during his last two seasons with the Eskimos.

In 2009, Canada opened the inaugural IFAF U-19 World Championship by beating New Zealand, 55-0, then defeated Japan, 38-35, to reach the gold medal game, where it lost to the United States, 41-3. From 2000-07, Team Canada participated in the annual NFL Global Junior Championship, winning the international tournament four times.

Veteran defensive coordinator Warren Craney returns to Team Canada this summer. Joining him and Thorpe are Patrick Boies (offensive coordinator), Gilles Lezi (special teams), Michael Faulds (quarterbacks), Kamau Peterson (receivers), Alain Mainguy (offensive line), Terry Eisler (running backs), Brian Guebert (defensivel) and Devin Murphy (defensive backs).

Football Canada is the national governing body of Canadian amateur football with an estimated participation of 400,000 that represents tackle, touch and flag. The first documented football game was played at the University of Toronto on Nov. 9, 1861.
Football Canada was initially established in 1884 and was known as the Canadian Rugby Football Union  with the specific purpose of organizing play-off games between various union champions. The role and associated objectives of the CRFU grew and changed significantly as it developed into the national governing body of all Canadian amateur football.
